12th Army Corps

12th Army Corps is a combined arms unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

It was formed in December 2024, slightly before the shaping of the Ukrainian Defense Forces into the new Corps-Brigade system, becoming the newest corps within the Ukrainian Ground Forces, and first acknowleged and reported in January 2025 by MilitaryLand.

In May 2025, the commander of the corps was revealed, namely Colonel Pavlo Protsiuk. That same month, many units of the corps would be revealed to be part of several branches across the umbrella of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, including the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Territorial Defense Forces, National Guard, and Border Guard.

A month later, two high profile units would join the corps, being the 41st Mechanized Brigade, mostly known for the defense of Chasiv Yar, and the 1027th Anti-Aircraft Missile & Artillery Regiment. In August 2025, the 41st Mechanized Brigade would depart from the corps, joining the 16th Army Corps.

In February 2026, the 65th and 151st Mechanized Brigade’s were rotated, with the 151st Mechanized Brigade leaving the structure of the corps to join the 17th Army Corps.

The formation is believed to be the new Reserve Corps of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, with the former Reserve Corps, namely the 11th Army Corps, being reformed into a full-on frontline formation following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Insignia

The insignia displays a traditional chevron with a green canvas and yellow border. The central imagery contains an elaborately designed shield with a Crossbow facing the peak of the insignia, grasped by a gauntlet. Adjourning the shield are two long poles with stylized crosses on either end, with blue talons containing stars inside of them.
