About Unit

118th Territorial Defense Brigade is a unit of the Ukrainian Territorial Defense Forces.

It was formed Cherkasy Oblast. During its formation in 2018, the brigade included six battalions stationed in the cities of Smila, Zolotonosha, Uman, Zhashkiv, Zvenyhorodka, and Cherkasy.

Insignia

At the center of the brigade’s sleeve insignia is a golden tensioned bow with an arrow pointing downward. This element on a blue background is a historical symbol of the Cherkasy regiment of the Registered Cossacks. Notably, the fact that the brigade belongs to the Territorial Defense Forces can be identified by the crenelated top of the shield, representing a protective wall.
