About Unit

43rd Mechanized Brigade is a mechanized unit of Ukrainian Ground Forces. The brigade was formed on March 1, 2023 on the basis of a mechanized battalion of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade and wounded soldiers of the same brigade. The personnel underwent intensive training at the training grounds abroad, namely Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.

In June 2024, the brigade was deployed in the vicinity of Kupyansk and has been holding these positions until today.

Insignia

The central element of the brigade’s insignia is a black rampant bull—symbolizing resilience, courage, determination, strength, and fighting spirit. This depiction has been historically used on the coats of arms of Ukrainian Cossack regiments, reflecting the legacy of Ukrainian military traditions. The shield has a blue border, a color characteristic of mechanized troops.
