12th Army Corps is the newest Ukrainian corps
The Ukrainian Ground Forces have established a new corps.
The Ukrainian military command has established the 12th Army Corps as a new component of the Ground Forces of Ukraine. The formation of the corps was initially disclosed by Mariana Bezuhla in November 2024, though it has only come to our attention recently.
The numeric designation follows the sequence of the three prior Ground Forces corps: the 9th, 10th, and 11th Army Corps. It was the only available number remaining in the series, as the 8th and 13th Army Corps had existed previously.
The composition of the corps, along with its military unit number or insignia, is currently unknown.

slava Ukraine!!!
Jerome, can you tell me what this means in context? I am used to a Corps being a HQ unit for assigned divisions (brigades?) with additional artillery, medical and other resources. Do these’units have permanent units assigned and extra resources?
Ukrainian army corps units have semi-permanent structure. Each corps has a support, engineering, and logistics battalions. You can check 10th Army Corps for example: https://militaryland.net/ukraine/armed-forces/10th-army-corps/.
Thanks Jerome. I would like to believe that if the 152nd/155th had a corps level command from the start, that OK West wouldn’t have had carte blanche to slice them up.
