Pilum Regiment is a unit of the Ukrainian National Guard.
The unit was formed between September and December 2025, being formed on the basis of fighters from the Unmanned Systems Battalion, as well as the Reconnaissance Wings of the Reconnaissance Target Designation Element of the Azov Brigade.
It became the dedicated Unmanned Systems formation as part of the 1st Azov Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard. It also began to use the former insignia, depicting a Triskelion, of the Unmanned Systems Battalion of the Azov Brigade.
Between January and March 2026, the unit was reinforced by fighters from the Unmanned Systems Platoon of the Tank Battalion of the Azov Brigade, as well as the Karna Battalion from the 22nd Brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard.
It has also integrated elements of the Tayfun Detachment, which has also integrated some elements under the Lava Unmanned Systems Regiment as part of the 2nd Khartia Corps of the branch.
In April 2026, the unit was expanded from the size of a battalion to a regiment, being formally established within the 1st Azov Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard as the 41st Unmanned Systems Regiment “Pilum”.
Insignia
The insignia illustrates a pointed chevron in pastel yellow and black tones. At its core, the chevron displays a stylized hawk diving from the top left to the bottom right of the insignia, bearing the number one within its torso, grasping onto a spear. The peak of the insignia features the nickname given to the regiment, and below the hawk is a stylized Idea of the Nation symbol, reflecting its parent corps and its ideology. The same hawk is also used by the 1st Azov Corps and the Azov Brigade.
