41st Brigade joins 12th Army Corps

The 41st Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces has officially joined the 12th Army Corps, headquartered in Kyiv, according to announcements made by both the corps and the brigade on their official media channels. Additionally, representatives of the brigade recently took part in a table tennis tournament organized by the 12th Army Corps.
Unique composition of the corps
The 12th Army Corps appears to be established on the foundation of the Defense Grouping of Kyiv, which has overseen the defense of Ukraine’s capital. According to a June 12, 2025 report by MilitaryLand, the corps consolidates various military formations from Kyiv Oblast and surrounding regions. These include the Presidential Brigade of the Ground Forces, the 112th, 118th, and 120th Territorial Defense Brigades, the National Guard’s 19th and 25th Brigades, the 27th Brigade, the 28th Regiment, and border guard units stationed in Kyiv Oblast.
The 41st Mechanized Brigade is the first fully established mechanized unit within the corps, although the Presidential Brigade has, over the course of the war, evolved into a formation that can also be considered mechanized as well.
The formation of the 12th Army Corps was first announced in March 2025, with MilitaryLand being the first outlet to report on its creation.
