More units joining the 12th Corps

The Ukrainian 12th Army Corps (12-й армійський корпус) of the Ground Forces is one of the more active army corps formations on the social media, and continues to reveal units under its command. More recently, posts revealed that 67th Mechanized Brigade, which was formed by Ukrainian Volunteer Corps, and later the core was disbanded, joined the 12th Army Corps. However, this is not the only unit that has apparently joined the formation.

We have now confirmed earlier reports regarding a medical battalion within the 12th Army Corps. The 2nd Medical Battalion “Extremis,” has indeed joined the formation.
A new communication battalion is being formed in the structure of 12th Army Corps. The number designation is yet to be revealed, but we know the unit has received the military unit number A5118 and insignia.
Jack of all trades
The corps currently commands units from various branches, either temporarily or as part of its structure, including the Border Guards, Territorial Defense, National Guard, and Ground Forces. Notably, during Ukraine’s Constitution Day on June 28, it was revealed that the corps also commands a naval unit – the 26th River Boat Division of the River Flotilla. Stationed in Kyiv, this division operates the Gyurza-M class gunboat Bucha. This further underscores the corps’ primary mission at this moment: the defense of the Ukrainian capital.
