About Unit

18th Army Corps is a combined arms unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

The corps was formed in March 2025, as part of the broader effort within the Ukrainian military to transition to a corps-based structure. It is known that it is being formed in Cherkasy Oblast.

On April 12, 2025, the commander of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade, Colonel Roman Darmohray, was appointed as the commander of the 18th Army Corps. Darmohray transferred his previous position to the brigade’s Chief of Staff, Colonel Volodymyr Potyeashkin.

In May 2025, the corps received its officially approved chevron.

In August 2025, it became known that the combat composition of the corps had been fully revealed, including the 1st Heavy Mechanized Brigade, 21st, and 47th Mechanized Brigades, the 47th Artillery Brigade, and the 66th and 156th Mechanized Brigades.

Insignia

The insignia features a consistent chevron style with the rest of the ground forces, split in two, with red on the left and green on the right. The central elements of the insignia feature a crossed Sabre and Bulava, symbolising command, leadership, authority, and military power. Above these weapons is a Silver Cross Pattée, and below is a silver eight-pointed star.
