About Unit

129th Communications Battalion is a unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

The unit was formed in November 2014, initially as the 129th Reconnaissance Battalion. The formation of the battalion was undertaken by the Mariupol United City Military Comissariat of Donetsk Oblast, and a deadline to form the battalion was laid out for late December 2014.

On December 18, 2025, it was clarified by the 18th Army Corps of the Ukrainian Ground Forces that the battalion was, in fact, a communications unit and was subordinated to the 18th Army Corps.
