• International Legion

    Formed by Presidential decree right after the outbreak of full-scale Russian invasion, the Legion has taken part in the majority of the crucial campaigns and battles of the war. Legionnaire teams are also embedded in some of the most prominent brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

  • Ukrainian Volunteer Army

    Military volunteer formation established in December 2015 by Dmytro Yarosh following his departure from the Right Sector movement. On October 14, 2018, the 5th and 8th battalions were withdrawn from the front lines, but returned to active combat after the Russian full scale invasion. UDA units are integrated across various branches, not limited to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

  • Territorial Defense Forces

    The reserve component of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, tasked with organizing and carrying out territorial defense missions. Each region of Ukraine has a territorial defense brigade, with large cities having their own. The units are frequently deployed to combat zones outside their home regions.

  • Special Operations Forces

    A separate type of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, comprising special forces and information-psychological operations units. These units are staffed with specially trained personnel skilled in intelligence, direct action, and military support. They conduct complex and sensitive operations

  • Naval Forces

    Designed to protect Ukraine’s sovereignty and national interests at sea, the Navy is tasked with defeating enemy naval forces in designated maritime zones, both independently and in coordination with other branches of the Armed Forces, while also supporting the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

  • Air Force

    The Ukrainian Air Force is a crucial part of the Armed Forces, responsible for defending national airspace, conducting airstrikes on enemy targets, supporting ground forces, deploying airborne troops, transporting supplies, and carrying out reconnaissance missions.

  • Ground Forces

    The main combat force of the Ukrainian army, playing a crucial role in both peacetime and wartime. The branch consist of mechanized and armored troops, missile and artillery forces, army aviation, air defense units, and special forces. This structure ensures full readiness to carry out combat missions both on the frontlines and in the rear.

  • Air Assault Forces

    Ukrainian Air Assault Forces are the elite of Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Airmobile troops were created in 1992 on the basis of Soviet Airborne troops stationed in Ukraine. In 2015, the brigades were reinforced by tank units equipped with T-80BV tanks. In 2017, the troops were rebranded as Air Assault forces.
