17th Army Corps

17th Army Corps is a combined arms unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

The corps was formed at some point in early 2025, discovered around April of the same year, as part of the ongoing reform in the Ukrainian military to the corps structure. It had received its unofficial insignia later that month, which was then changed to its current, official one.

In July 2025, three units joined the corps: the 65th and 110th Mechanized Brigades, alongside the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade. Later, it was discovered that the 108th and 241st Territorial Defense Brigades had also joined alongside the 422nd Unmanned Systems Battalion known as “Luftwaffe”.

Further details in early July surfaced of the 118th Mechanized Brigade, and the 411th Unmanned Systems Regiment, known as “Hawk,” also being assigned to the corps. The final and most recent units to have joined were the 44th Artillery Brigade and the 128th Territorial Defense Brigade.

It was also discovered that Col. Volodymyr Silenko has been the commander of the corps since at least June 28, 2025.

The corps is currently fighting in the Zaporizhzhia direction of the frontline, which is their area of operation that has been assigned.

Insignia

The insignia features a green field with a yellow border. At the center is a stylized blue shield bearing a bow with two crossed arrows, symbolizing precision, coordination, and tactical effectiveness. Behind the shield are a spear with a plume and a Cossack-style sabre, crossed to represent strength and heritage.
