110th Mechanized Brigade is a unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.
The brigade was formed at the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022. It held the line at Avdiivka from March 2022 until February 2024, becoming a highly effective combat unit through continuous heavy fighting.
The brigade was awarded the honorary title “named after Brigadier General Marko Bezruchko” in August 2022, received its Battle Flag in October 2022, and was awarded the Medal for Courage and Bravery in December 2023.
Immediately after its formation and for the next two years, the brigade held the defense of the Avdiivka direction. From October 10, 2023 until February 2024, the unit held back some of the enemy’s largest mechanized assaults of full-scale invasion, heroically defending Avdiivka during the long months of the terrible siege, against the numerically much superior enemy. After enduring partial encirclement and significant personnel losses, the unit was forced to withdraw in early 2025. Following this, brigade commander Ihor Hubarenko was dismissed.
After a short recovery, the brigade was redeployed in the Pokrovsk front, stopping the enemy’s rapid advance near the villages of Novooleksandrivka and Vozdvizhenka from the wheels. In an another sudden relocation, the 110th Brigade took defensive position in the Selidove-Kurakhove direction.
Once again after a minimal period of rest, in December 2024, the brigade was sent to defend the town of Velyka Novosilka, where, like in Avdiivka, had to face harsh bombings and assaults from numerical superior forces, this time in a more difficult and unfavorable terrain suited for defensive operations.
On July 1, 2025, brigade commander Colonel Serhiy Zakharevich and his deputies were killed in a russian strike on Huliaipole.
After a necesary withdrawn for recovery after such long and exhausting battles, a battalion tactical group of the brigade was formed and transferred to the Sumy to help in the defence of the region and the settlement of Andriivka.
In early July 2025, the brigade was absorbed into the 17th Army Corps and continued to conduct combat operations, initially in the Zaporizhzhia direction of the front, and later from 2026 in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
