About Unit
36th Rifle Battalion was a unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.
It was formed following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine to help bolster the Ukrainian Ground Forces. It would later be seconded to the then 3rd Tank Brigade, now the 3rd Heavy Mechanized Brigade.
Later, the brigade was reassigned under the command of the 61st Mechanized Brigade.
On July 22, 2025, the battalion became defunct and was reformed within the 61st Mechanized Brigade.
