43rd Artillery Brigade

43rd Artillery Brigade is a unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

The brigade was formed in 2014 on the basis of the 5th Artillery Battalion, as part of the 26th Artillery Brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

It received its first order in May 2015, a year following Russian aggression in southern and eastern Ukraine. In 2016, the 45th Motorized Battalion, which was temporarily assigned to the brigade, was disbanded, and the brigade’s security battalion was formed on its basis.

In October 2017, the deputy commander of the 44th Artillery Brigade, Oleh Mikhailovich Dorokhov, was appointed to the position of brigade commander.

On October 14, 2020, the brigade received the honorary title named after Hetman Taras Triasylo, a hetman of the Zaporizhzhian Cossacks.

After the start of the full-scale invasion, it participated in the defense of Kyiv Oblast in the first few weeks of the invasion, and later deployed to Donetsk Oblast. Prior to the Kharkiv offensive, it was deployed to Kharkiv Oblast. After, it returned to Donetsk Oblast.

In February 2025, the brigade received Archer artillery systems from Sweden, making it the second unit to receive these systems, following the 45th Artillery Brigade.

Insignia

The insignia consists of a traditional chevron with a bright red canvas and bold yellow border. Its central symbology consists of two stylized yellow cannons, adjorned by two yellow cannon balls bellow the cannons.
