Mechanized Infantry
162nd Mechanized Brigade is a unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.
The brigade was formed in June 2024, at the same time as the 160th Mechanized Brigade, and set to expand the reserve of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
It is possible that the brigade was also planned as part of the Ukrainian Legion initiative, like its sister unit.
In May 2025, the brigade received its first insignia, which was rejected, and later received a new insignia that month.
Currently, the brigade is still in the process of formation, almost two years onwards from its original creation date.
Insignia
The insignia displays a traditional chevron divided vertically into two, olive green on the left and blue on the right, with a yellow border. At its center stands a yellow sword facing the bottom of the chevron. Behind the swords are two crossed silver clamps, being a homage to the Polish Klamry Coats of Arms.
