Azov Corps Forms 41st Unmanned Systems Regiment “Pilum”

A new unit has been formed within the 1st Corps of Ukraine’s National Guard “Azov” — the 41st Unmanned Systems Regiment “Pilum.” The regiment was created from a battalion of the same name to expand the use of unmanned technologies in combat operations.

The announcement was made by the corps’ press service on May 4.

The new unit specializes in striking enemy forces and assets, particularly in rear areas. Its key tasks include disrupting logistics, conducting aerial reconnaissance, and supporting other corps units.

According to the military, the expansion of “Pilum” is intended to enhance combat effectiveness through the systematic use of modern technologies.

The regiment is being developed by experienced commanders and specialists with combat experience and a track record of effective leadership.

“The large ‘Pilum’ family was created by experienced Azov commanders who earned authority on the battlefield. Their philosophy is humanity and mutual respect within the unit,” the corps’ press service said.
