242nd Territorial Defense Battalion was a unit of the Ukrainian Territorial Defense Forces.
The battalion was originally formed separately and assigned under the 241st Territorial Defense Brigade.
In August 2025, the battalion left the 241st Territorial Defense Brigade and joined the 117th Territorial Defense Brigade. In 2025, the battalion became defunct and was reformed as the 5th Linear Battalion of the brigade.
