Support Unit
512th Maintenance Battalion is a unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.
The battalion was formed on the basis of servicemen from the Maintenance Battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade. Its primary task is to repair and modernize armored vehicles, all types of weaponry, as well as unmanned and ground-based robotic systems.
Additionally, the unit has also been tasked with evacuating equipment from the combat zone, where it is immediately restored and returned to service.
Since its formation in 2025, the battalion has become the primary logistical base for repairing equipment within the 3rd Army Corps.
It also helps to play a role in developing, testing, and implementing methods for the repair and modernization of military equipment, including anti-drone and armored protection systems, where it is transferred to various units within the corps to be utilized in combat missions.
Insignia
The insignia depicts a pointed chevron in tree poppy yellow and midnight blue colors, consistent with the rest of the insignias in the corps. At its centre is a diagonal sword, nestled on either side by two wrenches. This design symbolises the importance of maintaining, repairing, and restoring various equipment in order to become lethal on the battlefield.
