About Unit

Black Fog Detachment is a volunteer unit formed from the volunteers of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, originally as a company of the 5th Battalion of the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps.
The company later became part of the 8th Battalion of Ukrainian Volunteer Army and in 2017 a completely separate unit.

In 2022, after the Russian full-scale invasion, the unit became part of the Special Operation Forces (SSO).
