About Unit

4th Assault Brigade was a planned unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

The unit was planned in early 2023 in anticipation of the upcoming Ukrainian southern offensive aimed at driving back Russian Forces in several directions, particularly to liberate the strategic city of Melitopol in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

However, the formation was never completed, and its personnel were transferred to the 116th and 117th Mechanized Brigades of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

Had the brigade come to fruition, it would have become the fourth Assault Brigade within the branch, alongside the ranks of the 3rd, 5th, and 92nd Assault Brigades. Its establishment likely failed due to a lack of personnel, equipment, and a large number of brigades already undergoing formation or expansion, thereby preventing any meaningful results.
