About Unit

3rd Heavy Mechanized Brigade is a unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. Originally established in 2016 as the 3rd Tank Brigade within the Reserve Corps of the Ukrainian Army, it was later demobilized, retaining only its command and key personnel. However, on the day of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, its command structure was reactivated within hours. By February 25, the brigade began receiving mobilized troops, and by February 28, its first companies were already deployed to the front lines.

In July 2025, the brigade was reformed into a heavy mechanized unit.
