25th Assault Battalion

25th Assault Battalion is a unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

The battalion was formed following the full-scale invasion at some point in 2022. The formation came heavily into fruition prior to the Ukrainian summer offensive towards Melitopol in 2023. It was temporarily attached to the newly raised and equipped 47th Mechanized Brigade, which received Western equipment.

Alongside the 47th Mechanized Brigade, the battalion fought during the battle of Avdiivka in early 2024, with Russian forces concentrating much of its efforts on taking the city.

In late 2025, the battalion was conducting combat operations in the Dobropilia direction in Nove Shakhove. In August 2025, the battalion was transferred to the Assault Troops.

Insignia

The insignia displays a stylized chevron with a black canvas and a bold yellow border. Dominating the center is a stylized roaring lynx head in yellow, depicted in profile with pronounced fangs and sharp features.
