210th Assault Regiment

210th Assault Regiment is a unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

The unit was formed following the start of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, being formed in March 2022 as the 210th Special Purpose Battalion, named “Berlingo”.

It took part in the defense of Kyiv Oblast, with its fighters carrying out combat missions around the Kyiv Reservoir. It would go on to help liberate the rest of the region between March and late April 2022.

Following the liberation of much of the territory making up Kharkiv Oblast, the battalion was situated on the outskirts of the city of Kupyansk, where it would defend a critical railway line in the dense forests near the city, suffering heavy casualties.

The battalion also performed various combat missions elsewhere, including in Sumy, Poltava, Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Luhansk Oblast.

In August 2024, the battalion was expanded to the size of a regiment, with the original core of the battalion becoming the regiment’s first linear assault battalion, retaining its insignia.

Insignia

The insignia is a traditional chevron with an orange canvas and black border. The central imagery of the insignia contains a black triangle in the center, with a stylized sword facing the bottom of the chevron.
