About Unit

The 19th Motorized Battalion was a separate unit of the Ukranian Ground Forces, formed in May 2014 as 19th Battalion of Territorial Defense with residents from Mykolaiv Oblast, that the following november was reformed into the motorized battalion under the command of 1st Tank Brigade.

In 2016, the guards battalion of 40th Artillery Brigade was formed on its basis and the unit ceased to exist as a separate entity.
