Best brigades according to Biletskyi

Andriy Biletskyi, commander of the 3rd Army Corps and the 3rd Assault Brigade, discussed the top brigades in the Ukrainian army in an interview with ArmyInform TV. He highlighted the units he believes exemplify the army’s strength and whose experience should be expanded, aside from the 3rd Assault Brigade, which he founded in 2022.
“I don’t want to offend anyone or overlook any unit, but I’ll base my answer on my own experience and interactions,” says Biletskyi. “The 92nd and 93rd Brigades in the Ground Forces are strong units, as well as the 28th and the 5th Assault Brigade—both are excellent brigades.”
According to him, the last two brigades faced a tough path, as they went long periods without reinforcements in manpower or equipment. Despite this, they held the line and upheld a high level of professionalism.
“Most of the veteran brigades in the Air Assault Forces are strong. The newly formed 82nd Brigade is also a good unit, while the 77th faced a challenging path but has now reached a very high level,” Biletskyi continues.
“As for the National Guard, the 12th Brigade ‘Azov’ and the 13th Brigade ‘Khartiia’,” Biletskyi concludes. He added that since the 3rd Assault Brigade did not fight alongside the Marines, he could not provide a clear assessment of their units.
According to him, there are generally no bad brigades, whether new or old, but the lack of opportunities for brigade-level rotations presents a significant challenge. Moreover, if the experienced core around which the brigade was formed is lost, the unit faces serious difficulties on the battlefield.
