About Unit

8th Artillery Brigade “Harmash” is a unit of the Ukrainian National Guard. It was formed in February 2026, as part of the completion of the Corps-Brigade restructuring within the branch of the Ukrainian National Guard, becoming the dedicated artillery formation for the 1st Azov Corps, which was formed in April 2025. It is currently in the process of formation.

Insignia

The insignia is a pointed chevron, in theme with the symbolism throughout the corps, and its core formation, the Azov Brigade. Its central imagery depicts a lightning bolt transitioning into a star at the bottom, symbolising its quick strike capabilities, in black and yellow colors. Its peak contains the nickname of the unit in cyrilic writing.

He joined Azov in February 2015 and has been continuously engaged in combat operations against Russian forces since then. As an artillery officer, he played a significant role in strengthening the unit’s firepower and operational effectiveness. At the start of the full-scale invasion, he served as Chief of Staff of a howitzer artillery battalion and participated in the defense of Mariupol.
