Special Purpose Group “Kontakt-12”, also known as “K-12”, is a unit of the Artillery Group of the Azov Brigade.
The unit was formed on May 25, 2023, by many veterans of the Azov Regiment who had fought during the defense of Mariupol in 2022. The unit was founded by Nazarii Hryntsevych, one of the youngest fighters in the unit. Since its creation, it has also recruited many other volunteers willing to join the ranks of the brigade.
On May 7, 2024, the Azov Brigade announced that the commander of the unit, Nazarii Hryntsevych, call sign “Hrinka”, had been killed in action by Russian Forces. He had served as a platoon commander of optical observers in the unit.
Insignia
The insignia conforms with the brigade’s usual pointed chevron. The colour scheme differs heavily, using black and red instead of the usual blue and yellow, other variants seen in use. It features two stylized bird skulls impaled on a central vertical axe, which faces to the left of the insignia. Two arrows cross diagonally behind the skulls. The bottom of the insignia displays the unit’s name of “K12” in bold, while the top of the axe displays the iconic “Idea of the Nation” symbol.

Here you can find the last known structure of the unit, including their insignia if available.

It includes the headquarters, management and commandant platoon.
