Recruit Company

Recruit Company is a linear unit of 1st Squadron of the International Legion of HUR MO.

The group was initially formed in 2022 as Recruit Team in honor of the Foreign Service Group Alpha’s commander, Oleksii Chubashev, call sign “Recruit”, who was killed in action during heavy fighting in Severodonetsk, Luhansk Oblast.

It operated as part of the framework of the International Legion under the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, and presumably fought in many areas of the frontline.

In late October 2024, the unit was reformed and expanded as the Recruit Company. Despite being a company in name, the unit is more in line with Western military structure and practices, including size, being no more bigger than the size of a small platoon.

In mid 2025, it became known that the group was subordinated to the 1st Squadron of International Legion, indicated by an interview with the squadron commander, call sign “Pirate”, who was the former deputy commander of the Foreign Service Group “Alpha”.

Insignia

The insignia depicts a cross with a black border and an old copper color on the interior of the cross. The central imagery depicts a horizontal sword pointing right, and a vertical sword facing downwards. Nestled around them are the inscriptions of the unit’s name.
