About Unit

In the end of 2014 the 8th Separate company Aratta was formed inside the structure of the Volunteer Corps. In 2015 the company was complemented to a battalion. Its first commander Herhert left the Volunteer Corps together with his battalion and Dmytro Yarosh and became part of the new Ukrainian Volunteer Army. 2018 the battalion was taken away from the frontline and became a reserve unit.

2022 the unit was activated and later integrated in the Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR).
