Shevchuk appointed as the commander of 15th Corps

Colonel Ruslan Shevchuk, former commander of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade and the 58th Motorized Brigade, has been appointed commander of Ukraine’s 15th Army Corps. The appointment was revealed by the corps’ press service through a published photo, in which MilitaryLand staff noticed Shevchuk’s presence during a ceremony.
Shevchuk’s appointment to lead one of the newly formed corps had been suggested as early as February 2025. In April 2025, he left his position as commander of the 58th Motorized Brigade and was reportedly appointed commander of an unnamed corps.
In a photo shared by Operational Command West, Ruslan Shevchuk can be seen standing next to Brigadier General Volodymyr Shvedyuk, the commander of Operational Command West. It had been rumored that Shevchuk would take command of a corps formation not including his former unit, the 58th Motorized Brigade. The only remaining corps without a known commander is the 14th Army Corps, to which the 58th Motorized Brigade is structurally subordinated.
