Operation Report 2019 – Week #42

Operation Report is a summary of what happened in Joint Forces Operation Zone (previously known as Anti-Terrorist Operation zone or ATO) during the last week.

Casualties

October 14, 2019

  • n/a (53rd Mechanized Brigade) a soldier. According to Ukrainian bloggers, one of the eight soldiers captured on May 22, 2019, near Novotroitske, committed suicide.

October 15, 2019

  • Vorobey Oleksandr (39th Anti-Aircraft Regiment) a soldier. He was seriously wounded on September 27, 2019, and threated in Kharkiv and later Lviv Hospital. On October 15, he died.
  • Nykonenko Yaroslava (101st Guards Brigade) a soldier, former member of Aydar Battalion. He was killed by an enemy sniper near Marinka.
  • Hromovych Yuriy (92nd Mechanized Brigade) a soldier. He was killed by enemy sniper near Avdiivka.

October 16, 2019

  • Krylʹ Stepan (36th Marine Corps Brigade) a senior soldier. He was killed by enemy sniper near Vodyane.

Two tank brigades received new insignias

1st and 17th Tank Brigade of Ukrainian Armed Forces received new insignias. Our list of units was updated as well to reflect these changes.
