National Guard Receives Western Tanks

The National Guard of Ukraine continues to strengthen its combat capabilities to effectively counter armed aggression. Recently, Leopard-series tanks were delivered to the combat units of the National Guard, as revealed by the commander of the National Guard, Oleksandr Pivnenko, on his Facebook page.
In particular, the guardsmen received Leopard 1A5 and Leopard 2A4 tanks, which have already proven their effectiveness in combat conditions. They combine high mobility, firepower, and reliability — qualities that are critically important on the modern battlefield.
National Guard servicemen are undergoing intensive training to effectively operate this equipment, including training abroad. They are adapting new types of weaponry to the combat conditions in eastern and southern Ukraine, taking into account modern challenges — such as the widespread use of FPV drones. This primarily involves the integrated work of aerial reconnaissance, electronic intelligence (ELINT) and electronic warfare (EW) units, as well as the specific terrain, nature of combat operations, and conditions in each operational direction.
The specific units that received Leopard tanks have not been officially disclosed. However, a few weeks ago, Leopard 1A5 tanks were observed in service with the Rubizh Brigade.
Currently, three brigades are known to operate Leopard 2A4 tanks: the 33rd Mechanized Brigade, the 155th Mechanized Brigade, and the 21st Mechanized Brigade, where at least one tank has been observed.
