86th Battalion joins Da Vinci Regiment

It has recently been revealed that a transfer has taken place within the Ukrainian Armed Forces: the 86th Territorial Defense Battalion has officially joined the 1st Assault Regiment ‘Da Vinci’ as part of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.
It is presumed that the battalion has joined as one of the main combat arms of the regiment, forming a new battalion, or possibly being integrated into existing ones. However, no official confirmation has come from the regiment or the battalion itself as to how they are being integrated. Most probably, following the structure of the 225th and 425th Assault Regiments, the battalion has become either the 2nd or 3rd Assault Battalion of the regiment. We will update the article once we get official confirmation.
About the battalion
86th Battalion was previously a part of the 106th Territorial Defense Brigade and has been active across many sectors along the frontline. This includes the Donbas, Kharkiv, and Kherson Oblasts. The legacy of the battalion now draws to an end, while beginning a new journey with the Da Vinci regiment. The battalion will now continue to carry out combat missions with its new subordination.

It is plausible that in the future, other Territorial Defense Battalions will be integrated into Ground Forces units to help expand and improve their integration within the ongoing reformation of the Ukrainian Military.
