39th Coastal Defense Brigade receives its insignia

The brigade receives its new insignia.

On March 3, 2025, we reported on the reformation of the 126th Territorial Defense Brigade into the 39th Coastal Defense Brigade. This follows several other units, such as the 150th Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces, which was transferred to the command of the Marine Corps and restructured into the 40th Coastal Defense, and similarly the 124th Territorial Defense Brigade became the 34th Coastal Defense Brigade.

Recent Telegram publications show that the brigade has been given a unique insignia. However, this is the first coastal defense unit not to follow a sea-themed insignia, but to loosely stick to its old unofficial insignia.

The new insignia is a shield with the typical marine corps colours, with a red heart behind a saber and an arrow; an echo to its previous insignia. This appears to be the final unit in Ukraine’s Armed Forces to be restructured into a coastal defense unit.
