New Commander Appointed to 39th Coastal Defense Brigade

Lieutenant Colonel Bohdan Przhehalinskyy has been appointed commander of the 39th Coastal Defense Brigade of the 30th Marine Corps of the Ukrainian Navy, according to an announcement published on the brigade’s official channels. He succeeds Lieutenant Colonel Andriy Moroz, who had led the unit since July 10, 2025.
Who is Bohdan Przhehalinskyy?
Przhehalinskyy was born in 1994 in Kryvyi Rih. He entered the National Academy of Ground Forces in 2012, and upon graduation in 2016 was appointed platoon commander in the 1st Marine Battalion of the 36th Marine Brigade. He took part in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Donbas.
In 2017, the battalion was reorganized into the 503rd Marine Battalion, where he served as an officer within the management unit.
Following the death of the battalion’s commander in March 2022, Przhehalinskyy assumed command of the 503rd Marine Battalion. In early 2025, he was appointed deputy commander of the 39th Coastal Defense Brigade, a post he held until his latest promotion.
