114th Territorial Defense Brigade is a unit of the Ukrainian Territorial Defense Forces.
It was formed in May 2018 in Kyiv Oblast. In September 2018, exercises by battalions of the brigade were held in Vasylkivshchyna, Kyiv Oblast. A year later, in September 2019, the 132nd Territorial Defense Battalion, subordinated to the brigade at the time, participated in training exercises around Bila Tserkva.
Following the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the brigade was deployed to defend against the Russian advance towards Kyiv Oblast and the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv. The 133rd Territorial Defense Battalion of the brigade helped to defend a crucial river crossing between Bucha and Irpin, and also later organized a river crossing to push Russian forces back. At this time in the defense of Kyiv, they operated alongside the 72nd Mechanized Brigade.
Later, they’d be redeployed to other parts of eastern Ukraine, with the 134th and 137th Territorial Defense Battalions deployed in this area. From May to August 2022, a company from the 137th Territorial Defense Battalion defended the Soledar area, a settlement on the outskirts of Bakhmut. Another company of the battalion partook in the Kharkiv offensive in late 2022.
In August 2022, the brigade received its battle flag, presented to the brigade commander by General Valeriy Zaluzhny.
