Special Forces
4th Assault Center “Ranger” is a unit of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces.
The unit was formed in June 2024, alongside three other units, as well as a Ranger Corps within the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces. Initially, the unit was designated as the 4th Special Purpose Regiment “Ranger”, and was meant to be modeled after American Rangers and other Special Operations units to perform highly specialized tasks on the frontline.
It would become one of the only two units as part of the Ranger initiative to actually be formed, alongside the 6th Special Purpose Regiment, with the other units not coming to fruition due to difficulties with manpower.
In 2025, it would be redesignated as the 4th Assault Center “Ranger” of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces.
Insignia
The insignia remains in theme with the rest of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces insignias, with the colors retaining their signature gray tones on the border. Inside the shield, it is divided diagonally in half, with the left side being a dark crimson, and the top right being black. The top right depicts a wolf animal, aligning with the forces emblem, and the bottom left contains a white dagger.
