Special Operations Forces formed Ranger Corps

Not one, but four regiments with separate command structure.

In March, MilitaryLand as the first reported on the formation of a Ranger Regiment, a new type of unit within the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine. However, since the release of our article, rumors have surfaced suggesting that there might be more than just one regiment.

Today, we can reveal that the rumors were indeed true. The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces have formed four special purpose regiments, united under a common command and branded as the Ranger Corps. The existence of the regiments has been confirmed by Ukrainian recruitment agencies, advertisements, and the Special Operations Forces recruitment center.

Ranger Corps Command

4th Special Purpose Regiment

The existence of the regiment has been confirmed by local flag makers.

5th Special Purpose Regiment

The regiment is being formed in Kyiv, and is actively looking for recruits.

6th Special Purpose Regiment

The first publicly revealed Ranger unit is being formed in Khmelnytskyi and has been designated with military unit number A5018. Ruslan Mymrin has been appointed as the commander.

7th Special Purpose Regiment

There is currently no information about this regiment.

Ranger regiments are being formed according to NATO standards and are equipped with Western weaponry. Their tasks include carrying out special operations in enemy territory, reconnaissance, and sabotage. Each regiment has its own UAV company, anti-aircraft element, artillery and support unit.
