Free Russia Legion is a unit of the International Legion of HUR MO.
It was formed in early March 2022 by Russian citizens who oppose the Russian invasion of Ukraine and fight for an end to Russian aggression and the rule of Vladimir Putin. It also consists of defectors from the Russian Armed Forces, who they recruited from Prisoners of war, a similar tactic conducted by the Russian Volunteer Corps, with the recruitment of captured Wagner conscripts after the Battle of Bakhmut.
The unit fought alongside the Russian Volunteer Corps, a unit of similar nature and ambition, although it differed in political beliefs, in the Belgorod incursion, which was launched in May 2023. They also took part in a raid in June 2023 in Shebekino, Belgorod Oblast.
Almost a year later, alongside the Russian Volunteer Corps, they conducted raids into Kursk and Belgorod Oblast and took control of two villages.
Here you can find the last known structure of the unit, including their insignia if available.
It includes the headquarters, management and commandant platoon.
