About Unit

Belarusian Volunteer Corps is a unit of the Tymur Special Unit, as part of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine.

The unit was established in December 2022 by several Belarusian volunteers, Ihor Yankov, Andriy Tortsevsky, and Rodion Batulin. It brought together several smaller Belarusian formations, including the Teror Battalion, which had split from the Kastus Kalinouski Regiment in the summer of 2022.

The motivations of these Belarusian volunteers are to fight against Russian aggression during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine with the attempt to deoccupy Ukraine entirely, as well as Belarus.

Elements of the unit, particularly the Teror Battalion, took part in actions during the 2023 Belgorod incursion alongside the Russian Volunteer Corps. They were also active in the Donetsk direction during the Ukrainian counteroffensive in 2023.

Insignia

The insignia of the unit features a shield with a golden trim and a red border, and the canvas in white. The central element depicts a double cross, a common symbol in Belarusian culture, known as the Cross of Saint Euphrosyne, which is in red with a golden trim. Surrounding it is the unit’s name in Cyrillic.
