About Unit

96th Support Battalion is a unit of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

It was formed in July 2025, as part of the 3rd Assault Brigade’s expansion into the 3rd Army Corps.

The creation of the battalion was announced by Serhey Tishchenko, the commander of the Engineering Battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade, on July 1, 2025, on his personal Telegram. It was made clear that he would begin a recruitment campaign for a new, separate engineering unit.
