2nd Assault Battalion

2nd Assault Battalion is a linear battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade.

The battalion is composed of highly skilled and hardened combat veterans from the days of the Azov Regiment and other Ukrainian Military Units.

The unit is known for its competence in combat, carrying out many successful operations. It has been involved in many operations, notably the battle of Bakhmut in 2023, as well as the counterattack carried out by the brigade in the Bakhmut direction following May 2023, accomplishing most of their objectives. The unit has since participated in the battle of Avdiivka and has also been performing combat operations in the Kharkiv and Luhansk directions.

Ukrainian nationalism is heavily instilled amongst the battalion’s members, utilizing lots of imagery associated with Ukrainian heritage and culture. Many members in the unit have become popular for their personalities and their experience in the brigade.

Insignia

The insignia continues the trend of the brigade with the pointed chevron style. The central imagery is significantly less significant as opposed of other battalions, using minimalistic shapes. It contains two arrows on a rod to signify the battalion’s designation and its role as an assault unit to move forward. Behind the arrows is a five-leaf clover, symbolizing exceptional luck.
