The battalion was formed in 2022 as part of the 128th Territorial Defense Brigade.
The battalion participated in battles around Velyka Novosilka and Kamyanske.
In 2025, the battalion was reorganized into the 2nd rifle battalion of 128th Heavy Mechanized Brigade and ceased to exist as a separate entity.
