Reform of National Guard’s State Facilities Protection units

All units assigned to guard Ukrainian nuclear power plants have been expanded.

Ukrainian National Guard command has decided to expand units dedicated to protecting critical state facilities. All four active battalions have been reorganized and scaled up to regiments, as specified in Law No. 322 dated May 21, 2024. As standard practice within the National Guard, unit expansions involve a change in unit designation but retain the original military unit number.

1st Battalion ⇾ 28th Regiment of State Facilities Protection

The unit is responsible for the protection of Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

3rd Battalion ⇾ 29th Regiment of State Facilities Protection

military unit number 3043

The unit is responsible for the protection of Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant.

4th Battalion ⇾ 30th Regiment of State Facilities Protection

military unit number 3044

The unit is responsible for the protection of Pivdennoukrainsk Nuclear Power Plant.

5th Battalion ⇾ 33rd Regiment of State Facilities Protection

military unit number 3045

The unit is responsible for the protection of Rivne Nuclear Power Plant.

Let’s remember the 2nd Battalion of State Facilities Protection that defended Enerhodar and the Zaporizhzhia NPP. May the fallen rest in peace and the POWs return to freedom soon.
