Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs quietly forms new units within National Guard structure.
Armed Forces of Ukraine are not the only military formation in Ukraine who, due to Russian full-scale invasion in 2022, have started to form additional units or expand the already existing ones. For example, on February 5 this year, Ministry of Internal Affairs announced creation of new National Guard assault brigades under the Offensive Guard program.
However, Ukrainian National Guard is much bigger than just these Offensive Guard brigades. There are dozens of brigades, regiments and separate battalions who perform duties to protect Ukrainian state and its land. Through the months after the Russian full-scale invasion, several National Guard units were expanded and new formed. In total, the command of Ukrainian National Guard decided to expand four units to regiment or brigade size, and form six new additional units.
Northern Administration

27th Regiment (3082)
27th Regiment was formed on the basis of 22nd Separate Battalion. The unit is based in Chernihiv.
31st Regiment (3061)
31st Regiment was formed on the basis of 25th Separate Battalion. The unit is based in Cherkasy. Col. Oleksiy Turun was appointed as the commander.
16th Brigade (3101)
16th Brigade is a new brigade of the National Guard from the city of Dnipro. The command of brigade is Col. Vyacheslav Syvka. Interestingly, the brigade is listed under Northern Administration, not Central.
25th Regiment (3114)
New regiment of the National Guard, nothing else is known at this moment.
Central Administration
31st Brigade (3036)
31st Dnipro Brigade was formed on the basis of 16th Public Protection Regiment. The unit is based in Dnipro.
32nd Regiment (3052)
32nd Regiment was formed on the basis of 12th Separate Battalion of the National Guard. The unit is based in Poltava.
Eastern Administration
58th Separate Battalion (3158)
New battalion of the National Guard, nothing else is known at this moment.
59th Separate Battalion (3159)
New battalion of the National Guard, nothing else is known at this moment.
Western Administration
24th Regiment (3113)
24th Regiment is a new regiment of Ukrainian National Guard, formed in Chernivtsi. Commander is Col. Vadym Shvets.
26th Regiment (3115)
The new regiment of National Guard formed in Chaslivtsi, Zakarpattia Oblast. The commander is Lt. Col. Dmytro Hurtovsky, formed commander of 2nd Battalion of 2nd Galician Brigade.
