New Tactical Group Appears in International Legion

The International Legion for the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine is a diverse formation consisting of many foreign volunteer units on different scales. It was formed on March 7, 2022, in response to the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the acceptance of foreigners to join the fight against the enemy. As a result, two legions were established, one in the Territorial Defense Forces and one in the Main Directorate of Intelligence.

The New Tactical Group

In late 2024, the 1st Squadron of the International Legion of HUR MO established a new tactical element, known as Able Company. It was created to unify several foreign volunteer teams under a single command. It is commanded by Murray Seabrook, a United States military veteran who came to Ukraine at the beginning of the full-scale invasion and led Ronin Team. The formation unifies Ronin Team, Vanguard Team, Barb Team, and Med Team Alpha to enhance coordination and combat effectiveness.

Recently, however, it was discovered by our contributors that another similar formation exists within the structure of the International Legion of HUR MO. On June 25, 2025, two units belonging to the 2nd Squadron of International Legion of HUR MO, known as Delta Knights Group and Rogue Team, both regarded as extremely competent units within the legion, shared content showing off a new Tactical Group.

The new formation is known as Tactical Group “Ethos“; similarly to Able Company, it seeks to enhance combat effectiveness and cohesion. According to the unit’s Instagram and Telegram channels, the Tactical Group was one of the first formations of its kind within the International Legion following the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, meaning it was presumably formed some time after March 2022. This marks the first public appearance or acknowledgement of the Tactical Group; the unit has also received its insignia and motto. The motto in Latin is “Dominare Vincere”, translating to “Adapt and Overcome” in English. The insignia has been redrawn Davomme, in high quality exclusively for MilitaryLand.

The insignia depicts a long, stylized shield with a grey border and golden-orange colored canvas. The central imagery displays a bold grey sword pointing upwards to the top of the shield, with its crossguard stylized as a spiked star. On either side of the sword are two grey throwing stars.
