Armed Forces Eye Transition to ‘Corps-Brigade’ System

The new system should save human and material resources.

By the end of November, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will present a reform concept that will transition the military to a corps-based system, Ukrinform reports, citing sources within the army. This system is expected to significantly save human and material resources.

At the same time, it is noted that transitioning to a corps–division structure would demand significantly higher personnel, financial, and material resources—resources Ukraine is reportedly unable to allocate. However, this claim seems inconsistent with the ongoing expansion of the Armed Forces and the frequent establishment of new brigades, which inherently require substantial management and support infrastructure.

Currently, the Ground Forces have three corps: the 9th, 10th, and 11th Army Corps. Additionally, the Air Assault Forces include the 7th Air Assault Corps, and the Marines have the 30th Marine Corps. Another corps within the Ground Forces is currently in the process of being formed.

Doesnt have the resources to reorganize the army into division but has resources to create a bunch of new inexperient brigades becouse that worked well last summer while the ones on the frontline starve, thats the 72nd mech lost vughledar, there is something really wrong in the high command decisions, and if nothing changes it will cost the war

Vuhledar was lost because the russians advanced on the flanks and Ukraine had to withdraw to avoid encirclement. It appears that often ill equiped TDF units hold the flanks and they can’t hope to hold for long. That was the case at Popasna und it was the case in Vuhledar. Flanking and turning maneuver are russias best working tactics. Ukraine needs new units for rotations.

One day in history. Yesterday the Russians established a new record by capturing 62 km2 in a single day.

Not counting 2022.

Tristan

It doesn’t beat the 2024 record of ~1000km2 in a week gained in the Kursk by Ukrainien forces.

Oh, I forgot: you only speak for the Russians war criminals.

Patrick

Oh yes, the Kursk offensive. A true blessing for the Russians.
