80th Air Assault Brigade receives Strykers
A second brigade of Air Assault Troops has US-supplied armored carriers in the inventory.
Ukrainian 80th Air Assault Brigade has become the second user of Stryker armored personnel carriers among the units of the Air Assault Troops, and the third brigade overall. The official social media accounts of the brigade published today photos of the training on Stryker carriers with a comment that they are now in the service of 80th Air Assault Brigade.
The first unit that received US supplied Strykers was the 82nd Air Assault Brigade, a unit formed and designated for the Ukrainian southern offensive. There were also an unspecified amount of Stryker vehicles in the service of 42nd Mechanized Brigade in 2023, but their current whereabouts are unknown.
