79th Air Assault Brigade Begins Recruitment of Foreigners

Another brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces has opened up recruitment to foreign volunteers, the 79th Air Assault Brigade as part of the 7th Rapid Response Corps.
This move was announced on the brigade’s official social channels, including Facebook and Instagram channels, stating that they are actively welcoming foreign volunteers into their ranks. Below is the statement that the brigade put on their Instagram post where they initiated the recruitment of foreigners:
“79th Air Assault Brigade welcomes foreign volunteers who are willing to defend democracy and stand against aggression. You will gain real experience, stand with highly motivated people, and become part of history that is being written today.“
Interestingly, this move contradicts the statements made by the commander of Air Assault Forces Oleh Apostol. In a recent interview, he stated that foreign volunteers in the ranks of some of the brigades were unable to keep up physically during training and combat operations in comparison to their fellow Ukrainian servicemen.
Despite it, several units of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces are known to recruit or have foreign volunteers in their ranks, including the 25th Airborne Brigade, serving in infantry and drone positions, alongside the 81st Airmobile Brigade and the 82nd Air Assault Brigade, which are recruiting on various platforms, including the Foreign Recruitment Centre website.
