The 108th Mechanized Battalion of the 59th Motorized Brigade has been restructured into an assault unit. This was announced by the battalion commander, Serhiy Filimonov, in an interview with Army TV.
The 108th Battalion was formed by a breakaway group from the 1st Assault Battalion of the 67th Mechanized Brigade. Led by Serhiy Filimonov and the widow of the original formation’s commander, the group severed ties with Right Sector on January 28, 2024, as reported by MilitaryLand.
